What is Qi Gong?

Qi Gong is an ancient Chinese practice that combines movement, meditation, and controlled breathing to cultivate and balance life energy, known as "Qi" pronounced "Chee".  Qi Gong (pronounced "Chee gong") has its roots in traditional Chinese medicine and philosophy, dating back over 4,000 years. The term "qigong" is derived from two Chinese words: "Qi," which refers to the vital life force or energy present in all things, and "Gong," which means skill or cultivation. Thus, qigong translates to "energy work" or "skilled cultivation of energy Qigong involves a variety of practices that typically includes: Mindful Movements: Slow, gentle movements that promote relaxation and enhance the flow of Qi throughout the body. Breathing Techniques: Deep, rhythmic breathing patterns that help to calm the mind and body and Meditation: Focused mental exercises that encourage mindfulness and inner peace.
